That night in Madrid, 16 years on

An unforgettable night, which left its mark on the history of Inter and Italian football: on 22 May 2010, José Mourinho’s Nerazzurri defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid to lift the third Champions League title in Inter’s history.

A fantastic moment, achieved through the combined effort and strength of the whole Club, which crowned a fantastic season, completing a the first Treble achieved by an Italian club. The Coppa Italia, Serie A and Champions League were all won in the space of 17 days, from 5 to 22 May. Each win was sealed by Diego Milito, on target in both finals and with the decisive goal on the final day of the league campaign, alongside Javier Zanetti, captain of that team, and Cristian Chivu, Inter’s current Head Coach, who 16 years after that wonderful season has achieved an incredible domestic Double as a manager.
