The thoughts of the Inter Coach at the end of the win against Slavia Praha

After the win against Ajax, Inter won their first home match of the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 campaign beating Slavia Praha, thanks to a brace from Lautaro Martinez and goal from Dumfries. Three points and a fourth consecutive win in all competitions for the Nerazzurri: here are Cristian Chivu's post-match thoughts.

“We treated it as an important and serious match, which the players showed that with their attitude and behaviour. When you lose it’s not good, when you win there’s often too much excitement; there has to be balance. These lads have always tried to be proactive, to have the right mindset, to also enjoy themselves. You need the right amount of happiness and passion without losing focus and discipline, and in that, they’re improving, but they’ve always shown the right approach. Thuram? He says it’s just a cramp, we’ll run tests tomorrow, hopefully it's nothing serious. Seven changes compared to Cagliari? Because there were only 72 hours between the games, and I wanted to give a chance to players who haven’t had many minutes and let others rest, while always keeping balance and quality. I’m glad I was able to give Bisseck and Zielinski some extra playing time, and also rest others who’ve played a lot in recent weeks. I also have to think about Saturday’s game and the fact that some of them will be playing another two matches with their national teams. I’m not disappointed with what they’re doing — I know perfection doesn’t exist — but I see real commitment, even in adapting to things they weren’t used to doing. That makes me happy and proud of what this team is and what it wants to become.”
