— Dec 3rd 2025Full Inter debuts for Spinaccè (2006) and Bovo (2005), second appearance for Cocchi: Inter head to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals
A special and unforgettable night. Coppa Italia Round of 16, 5-1 win over Venezia. Leonardo Bovo, 2005-born midfielder, and Matteo Spinaccè, 2006-born forward, both made their Inter debuts at the end of the match. Just before, Matteo Cocchi came on too, after already making his debut in the Champions League Round of 16 match against Feyenoord, last season.
Cristian Chivu, who coached all three with the Inter youth teams, gave confidence and minutes to the players who are playing with the Inter U23's in Serie C, this season.
Unforgettable moments for all three players: Cocchi replaced Luis Henrique in the 60th minute, while Bovo and Spinaccè came on for Sučić and Pio Esposito. A complete Inter moment, which was nearly about to turn into an even more unforgettable night when Spinaccè went through on goal. Here is the reaction from all three after the match.
“It was a great emotion, even though it's the second time I've played with the First Team. We played very well today and it's great for me and my teammates from the U23's who played this evening. As I said before, I take inspiration from Dimarco and Carlos Augusto: I see them everyday and I don't have to go far to learn from great examples, they're players that I try to learn something from. How did I prepare for today? I managed to sleep: the Coach hadn't told me: he let me be calm, not to agitate me. I work everyday to grow and for moments like this evening, hoping that there will be many more like this. ”
Matteo Cocchi
“It's an evening that brings a unique emotion, we want to thank to the club and staff, playing at San Siro is every kid's dream. Serie C is a great experience, the more you play with the Primavera, the easier it is to bridge the gap between the youth teams and First Team. As a forward, I try to take something from everyone, but in this case I see myself a bit more like Marcus Thuram. They're all brilliant guys, Pio always helps us and we've known him since the youth teams, he gives us lots of tips, I'm grateful to play with him and everyone else. ”
Matteo Spinaccè
“Making my debut at San Siro is something that'll be with me forever, it's amazing. Playing in Serie C helps to bridge the gap that comes with playing First Team football. My teammates are always there, they give lots of tips. I try to learn something from everyone, I'm playing different roles this year: be it as a regista or mezzala, as I played when Chivu coached me. I'm a born regista, so I obviously like watching Çalhanoğlu closely. ”
