— May 23rd 2025The thoughts of Inter's assistant coach, who stepped in for the suspended Simone Inzaghi at the Sinigaglia
In their final fixture of the 2024/25 Serie A season, Inter beat Como on the road but finished second in the table with 81 points. Despite winning at the Sinigaglia, the Nerazzurri have concluded their league campaign one point behind Napoli, who got the better of Cagliari at the Maradona. Massimiliano Farris filled in for the suspended Simone Inzaghi for the match in Como, and this is what Inter's assistant coach had to say in his post-match interview:
“Today, we had to play our game here in Como. We did just that, which shows the great mentality of this team. We had to do our part, but it wasn’t in our hands. We already knew last week that it would be difficult. Still, we feel immense pride for what we’ve achieved this season. Now, we turn our attentions to chasing something so big, it’s almost hard to imagine. Football always gives you opportunities, and we’re lucky enough to be chasing a dream. We’ve been here before: we came so close two years ago. We've done just as well this year, and, next Saturday, we’ll try to complete a fantastic journey in Munich. Our fans? We have an incredible, mature fanbase. Over these past four years, our supporters have always stood by us in difficult moments, they’ve celebrated with us in times of triumph, and they’ve never abandoned us in defeat. Now, there’s just one final step left. It goes beyond the team, the head coach, the staff and the club - we hope to bring our fans great joy. We all deserve it. Let’s try to live this dream together.”
