The career and successes of the new midfielder for Inter Women

Class, leadership, and a desire to win are just a few of the characteristics that can describe Lina Maria Magull, the new midfielder for Inter Women.

Born in Dortmund, Germany, on 15 August 1994, Magull grew up with a passion for football. Lina took her first steps on the field at the age of 5 when she joined the youth team of Horder SC, a team from her neighborhood in Dortmund.

After continuing her youth career with Hombrucher and SuS Kaiserau in the suburbs of the city, she moved to Gütersloh in 2009, making her debut in the first team at the age of 15 in the German second division.

Magull played three seasons with the team from Gütersloh, securing promotion to the Frauen-Bundesliga at the end of the 2011/12 season. In that year, she also finished second in the Fritz-Walter-Medaille female ranking, an award given by the federation to the best young talents in German football.

Her performances caught the attention of Wolfsburg, a top-level team, which signed her in the summer of 2012. On 14 November 2012, she scored her first goal in the Frauen-Bundesliga against Gütersloh. By the end of her first season, she achieved a historic treble, winning the league, the German Cup, and the Women's Champions League.

Her three years at Wolfsburg were filled with success. In the 2013/14 season, Magull once again won the league and the Champions League, completing a double in her final season.

On loan to Freiburg, Magull played for three years in Breisgau, participating in a total of 72 matches and scoring 34 goals. In the 2017/18 season, she reached 12 goals in the league, securing the second position in the Frauen-Bundesliga top scorers' chart.

Her impressive numbers attracted Bayern Munich, and Magull arrived in Bavaria in the summer of 2018. A key player for the Bavarian team, Lina played for five and a half seasons in Munich, winning two more German championships in 2021 and 2023 and consistently participating in the Women's Champions League.

Becoming the captain of Bayern, she has played eight times this season in both Frauen-Bundesliga and Champions League, where she also faced Roma.

A crucial player for the German national team, Magull has played in all youth selections for Germany since the Under 15 in 2008.

Her greatest youth success is the U20 World Cup won by Germany in 2014, while with the senior national team - where she debuted in 2015 - she amassed 75 appearances and 22 goals, finishing as the runner-up in the 2022 European Championship, losing in the final against the hosts, England.

A skilled midfielder with a goal-scoring instinct, Lina Magull is ready to bring all her experience to Inter: her Nerazzurra adventure has just begun.
