— Nov 9th 2025Statistics and facts on the Serie A matchday eleven game
Inter are back in action to take on San Siro to take on Lazio on Serie A 2025/26 matchday eleven, on Sunday 9 November at 20:45 CET. A clash filled with historic battles and great technical value. After the win against Verona, Cristian Chivu's side will look to build on their form in front of their own fans, in a bid to aim for the top spots.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The match on Sunday will be the 165th match between Inter and Lazio in the top-flight. The Nerazzurri have won 69 times, compared to the Biancocelesti's 39 wins. There have been 56 draws between the sides. Inter are unbeaten in their last five matches against Lazio, in the league (three wins, two draws), with 14 goals scored during this team: an average of 2.8 goals per game, almost double compared to the previous nine meetings (1.4 per match). The Nerazzurri are unbeaten in their last home six games against the Biancocelesti in the Serie A (four wins, two draws), with constantly convincing performances at San Siro.
INTER STATS
Inter are one of the most in-form teams in the league: six wins in the last seven games (just one defeat), with 15 goals scored and just seven conceded. The Nerazzurri are the only team to have always scored in all of their first ten games of this Serie A season, with an average of 2.4 goals per match.
Chivu's side leads the way when it comes to balls played in the opposition area (356), 64 more than any other team in the league. The attacking style of play is supported by a high-level control of possession: first when it comes to the average percentage of possession (60.7%), second for passing accuracy (87%) and for the number of sequences with at least ten passes (156), just behind Napoli (158).
Inter are also the team with the most shots after an attacking recovery (18), three of which have ended up as a goal: this statistic underlines the efficiency of the high press and the ability to win back the ball in the opposition's half.
EL TORO, DUMFRIES AND LAZIO
The Inter Captain has scored six goals against Lazio in the Serie A, three of which have come in home games. Determination, decisiveness and consistency: Lautaro is an attacking point of reference for the team.
Lazio is Denzel Dumfries' favourite opponent: the Dutch full-back has scored three goals against the Biancocelesti, one in each of his last three matches in the Serie A. In the last 20 years, only Massimo Oddo has managed to scored in four consecutive matches against one team, when it comes to defenders (against Chievo from 2005 to 2007): an achievement that Dumfries is aiming to equal.
ÇALHANOĞLU AT THE TOP
With five goals in the league, including a brace in the last match at San Siro, Hakan Çalhanoğlu has already equalled his record for the number of goals scored last season. The Turkish international is also the joint highest-scoring player when it comes to goals from outside of the area in the top five European Leagues (three goals, on par with Antony and Julián Álvarez) and boasts a special record against Lazio: this is the side that he has provided the most assists against, more than any other player currently playing.
DIMARCO, THE EXTRA FORWARD
Precision, consistency and quality. Federico Dimarco is the player who has created the most chances (30) and produced the most crosses (55), so far this season. With two goals and three assists, the Inter full-back has had an active role in five goals in the league. Compared to all defenders in the top five European Leagues, only Alejandro Grimaldo (seven) has beaten this number.
THE OPPOSITION: LAZIO
Lazio, led by Maurizio Sarri, have started the campaign by obtaining 15 points in ten matches, thanks to four wins and three draws. The Biancocelesti have scored thirteen times, conceded seven goals and are currently in eighth. In their last five matches, Lazio have three draws and two wins. 3-3 against Torino and two 0-0 draws against Atalanta and Pisa. Their two wins came against Juventus (1-0 at the Olimpico) and a 2-0 home win against Cagliari. For the first time, after eight seasons, Lazio are not taking part in any European competitions. Sarri will probably start with a 4-3-3 formation with Provedel between the sticks, a back four composed of Lazzari, Gila, Provstgaard and Marusic, a midfield three of Guendouzi, Cataldi and Basic and then a front three of Isaksen, Dia, Zaccagni.
“L'Inter insieme al Napoli è la rosa più forte del campionato. Ha fatto due finali di Champions League negli ultimi anni. Per noi è una partita complicatissima, purtroppo negli ultimi anni il gap con queste squadre si è allargato. Sarà difficile anche se ci dovessimo esprimere al massimo.”
Maurizio Sarri
