Inter U23 draw 1 - 1 with Pergolettese

Inter U23 were held to a 1-1 draw by Pergolettese on matchday 24 in Serie C Group A. The game took place at the Silvio Piola in Novara, as Monza's U-Power Stadium was temporarily unavailable.

The Nerazzurri started well and controlled play in a tight first half, while Pergolettese defended solidly and looked to hit Inter on the break. The visitors came close to taking the lead when Petrovic struck the post in the 31st minute, before Corti opened the scoring just four minutes later. After being picked out by Jaouhari, the Pergolettese striker let fly with a left-footed strike that took a deflection and beat Calligaris. The same player then missed a golden chance shortly afterwards, and Inter went into the break a goal down.

The Nerazzurri hit back immediately after the restart, with Cinquegrano heading in Topalovic's perfectly weighted cross to level matters. Vecchi's side pressed for the winner throughout the second half, but Pergolettese made it tough with some resolute defending. The visitors nearly regained the lead through Ferrandino, while, at the other end, La Gumina went one-on-one with Cordaro but was thwarted by the goalkeeper. With the match coming to a close, Corti failed to take advantage of a mistake by Calligaris. Inter's best chance came from a scramble in the box, only for Cordaro to make two outstanding saves to foil Lavelli and Zuberek.

Neither side could find a winner, with the match ending 1-1. Inter take a point as they look ahead to their next league fixture away to Triestina.
