— Feb 22nd 2025A true display of concentration, which saw Kristjan Asllani play a key role, as he started his first game after five matches. At the end of the match, the Albanian midfielder shared his thoughts on the win over Genoa:
“Genoa are an organised team, they played really well and are in a good position in the league. We are happy, we had to be very patient. Now we're in first place and Napoli play tomorrow, but for now, we will enjoy this evening. We're never happy when we lose, but we bounced back very well. We worked well throughout the week and we managed to win a very difficult match. In the first half, there wasn't much space, but we were more patient in the second half and managed to score from a corner, we worked a lot on this during the week and we're happy. Dead ball situations give us a big hand, we are working well on this. Everyone helps me a lot, we talk a lot during the week, having a group like this makes everything easier. I have goals in my skillset, and I work on them during the week, but everyone tells me that I should shoot more: I need to work on this a bit more. Being the alternative to Calhanoglu isn't a burden, when I'm called upon, I have to do well and take responsibility: having Hakan in the team is never a burden. The Coach spoke to me today, about how I needed to give more cover, because they had two attacking midfielders: I think I did quite well, I am happy, but the win was the important thing. Lauti is incredible, he has everything, other than being a brilliant player, he is a brilliant person: he speaks with everyone, even with the lads from the Primavera side, he is truly our leader. This is a brilliant group and I owe a lot to the lads. ”
