Carbone: "A heartfelt victory, we played as a team."

“I think in the end we fully deserved the win, because of everything we put into the game. The boys went above and beyond today – they gave everything, and I’m proud of that. I’ve been coaching this team for a year and a half now. They work hard every single day, and today I wanted to thank them and congratulate them for how they played and for believing in the win until the very end. I asked them to take another step forward, to become a real team; we’re already a great group, but we need that extra edge that turns a group into a united team in every sense. Our balance and our playing identity must never change. No matter what happens on the pitch, we can’t lose sight of ourselves. We have to keep believing in what we do and stay on this path, the one we’ve been building together for the past year and a half. The players are doing that brilliantly: they believe in the project and prove it game after game. We’re also seeing progress from players who, until a few weeks ago, needed more minutes to get back into rhythm. I’m happy for them: today they showed great character, team spirit, and sacrifice. The fact they never gave up until the last minute makes me proud. They all deserve huge credit. We want to keep going in this competition, because it’s a fantastic experience that helps us grow together. We have to face every game with courage, just like we did today. I really believe in this group, and I’m convinced we can go far.”

We had a few setbacks at the start of the season, but we’re determined to bounce back. We know we’re a united team, a strong group that always plays to win, and today, we wanted it more than ever. The Youth League gives you emotions that are impossible to describe. It’s an incredible experience, one that lets us live moments we’ll carry with us forever. Playing in these stadiums, taking part in this competition, representing Inter – it’s the best feeling in the world. I would like to dedicate this goal to my family.
