The Brazilian defender's and Hakan Calhanoglu's thoughts after playing key roles in the win over Como at San Siro

Inter rounded off a busy spell of fixtures in the best possible way, beating Como 2-0 at San Siro ahead of the international break.

After the game, Carlos Augusto and Hakan Calhanoglu, who both played key roles in the victory, shared their thoughts on the win.

“I have to thank my teammates because we put in two very good performances, both tonight and in Rotterdam, showing great concentration and focus. One game doesn't change our journey or who we are. We spoke to each other and once again showed how strong we are and how much we want to win. We've bounced back in these last two games, and today we put in a great performance. We know that playing against Como is never easy. They're a very good team, but we've always believed in ourselves. We had the right attitude and showed great focus and concentration. I'm happy for all my teammates, and we have to keep going like this because there's still a long way to go this season. You know how it works in a team - when you lose a game at Inter, you have to be able to speak openly and tell each other things to their faces. But we're a group of top players who know our strengths and weaknesses, and we've managed to bring out the best in ourselves over these last two games. Bastoni playing as a centre-back? We worked together throughout the week. With Nico Paz on my side, I tried to be more aggressive because he's a very good player. Bastoni is also an excellent player and has all the qualities needed to play in that position. We've shown what we're capable of both on and off the ball, with the right attitude and approach. Now we have the international break, but we've shown what we want to achieve in the league. The Brazil call-up? After the World Cup, I made Inter my priority. A place in the national team is a consequence of your performances and the work you put in at club level. Brazil has a great footballing history, and I hope to represent the national team in the best possible way. We were aggressive because we know how good Como are in possession. We tried to deny them space and stop them getting past us, and I think Akanji and I did a good job of that. I'm happy with my teammates. Whenever I get the opportunity to play, I want to give everything I can to help the team. It's fantastic to have teammates like these. We understand each other so well, and we've shown that once again”

Carlos Augusto

“Como are a strong and difficult team to play against, and we knew that coming into the game. We approached it in the same way we did in Rotterdam, and I think we're heading in the right direction. We know what we need to do, keep going like this, stick together and never give up. What matters is how the team responds, not the fact that we lost a game, even if it was against AC Milan. We spoke about the previous game, and we've certainly performed much better in these last two matches. We need to maintain that hunger and fighting spirit, and we saw that in the battles we won today. I'm relaxed and focused on doing my job. I love my teammates, and I've been here for five years. We've won a lot together, so there's no reason for anyone to panic. There's no need to make a big deal out of anything. I'll keep doing my job, and we'll see what happens. ”
