Carlos Augusto scored his first Champions League goal, and it proved to be the winner against Kairat Almaty on matchday 4 of the League Phase. The Nerazzurri No.30 found the net with a fine left-footed strike from outside the box, ensuring Inter came away with another three points to maintain their perfect record in Europe's premier competition. Here's what he had to say after the match:
“Yesterday, I said there are no easy games in the Champions League. Our approach needed to be better, but the important thing is that we managed to win. I’m happy about the goal, but what really matters is the victory. We know how strong we are, but we have to show it every time. More focus is needed, but getting the win was important. We played a good match. Everyone expects these games to end 5-0, but these days there are no easy opponents in football. What counts is that we got the win. Chivu? He wants us to step up our intensity. We were a bit slow in possession in the first half, but we created chances and ended up scoring twice. However, we can still do more. On the bus, Pio and I joked that if he set me up for a goal, we’d celebrate in our own way! But ultimately, what matters most is that Inter win. After all, that’s our objective, so we have to keep pushing forward. These games are great to play in; we have the quality to win them, but we need to give our best to make sure we do.”
