— Sep 21st 2025The words of the two Nerazzurri players after the 2-1 victory against Sassuolo
Two goals down the left wing, two goals that earned Inter three vital points as they got back to winning ways in the league. Among the many key performers in the victory over Sassuolo, two stood out: Federico Dimarco and Carlos Augusto both made the difference in the 2-1 win at San Siro. The Nerazzurri’s goals came from two left-footers: Dimarco opened the scoring in the first half, while Carlos forced Muharemovic’s own goal with a strike from the edge of the box in the second half. That piece of play earned the Brazilian the Serie A Man of the Match award.
After the game, the two players shared their thoughts on the win over Sassuolo:
“It was important to win – we were coming off two defeats in the league and wanted to get points tonight for Inter. We did it and we’re happy. Those losses were two slip-ups, but the season is long. We’ll take it one game at a time, follow the coach’s instructions, and keep working the way we are.”
Federico Dimarco
“Going into the break 1-0 up was a tricky scoreline. There are no easy games, but once again the team showed we want to win, and we did everything we could to get the result. Being able to play more than one role is a positive, especially with the way we play: we’re an attacking side that keeps the ball a lot, so the third defender almost becomes a wing-back. I enjoy playing in both positions and helping the team.”
