The first match of 2026 and the first win for Inter, who stay in top spot in the league with a 3-1 win over Bologna. It was a challenging match against a side that has proven difficult for the Nerazzurri in recent years, but Chivu's side put on a dominant display.
The win at San Siro came down to the contribution of several players, but the goal that opened the scoring on matchday 18 came from Piotr Zielinski. After the game, the Polish midfielder shared his thoughts in the post-match interview, joined by Yann Bisseck:
“Zielinski's potential has been on show for a while now. I'm in good shape and happy to contribute to the team. We prepared for today's match really well, everything went according to plan, apart from that late goal we conceded. We're glad to have beaten Bologna, given that they've proven challenging for us in recent encounters. ”

He's a great caption, he plays for the team, not all forwards are like that and I'm very happy to have him as a captain. Right wing-back? As a centre-back, you have a lot of responsibility to keep the line high, so you can't do much going forward. But as a wing-back it’s important to contribute offensively as well. I try to do that. Today I think I did well, and I’ll keep working to improve. We know we’re strong. We have to stay focused, but if we bring our strength and quality to the pitch, we can do well. ”
