The 1994-born goalkeeper's first words after joining the Nerazzurri

A new chapter has begun to fulfill a dream that's been in the making for years: Ivan Provedel is an Inter player.

The 1994-born goalkeeper joins the Nerazzurri after four seasons with Lazio. He spoke to Inter TV for the first time following his move to the Club.

Ivan, welcome to Inter! How does it feel to be here on your first day as a Nerazzurri player? "It's hard to put into words, I'm just very happy to be here."

You've joined a team that won the Coppa Italia and will be looking to defend the Serie A title. How motivating is that challenge? "It's a hugely exciting challenge. Staying at the top is difficult, but it's also the most rewarding thing. I'm here to help the team achieve our goals."

At Inter you'll be reunited with teammates you've played alongside for Italy, while others you've faced as opponents. What are your first impressions of the squad and Cristian Chivu? "They all have an incredible mentality; otherwise they wouldn't have achieved everything they have, including winning two trophies last season. I'm sure the coach is the same. I'll have the chance to get to know him soon, and I can't wait to meet everyone and learn from them."

You've always supported Inter, and Francesco Toldo was one of your idols, right? "I became an Inter fan and wanted to be a goalkeeper after watching him play. I've always felt a special connection with him because of that."

Toldo described you as a determined goalkeeper with the composure to stay calm when it matters most. Do you recognise yourself in that description? "I'm grateful for his words. I always try to do my best while staying calm and composed, and I hope I can pass that sense of confidence on to my teammates. That's what I always aim to do. Hearing Francesco say those things about me makes me really happy."

You've already achieved a lot in your career. You're considered a modern goalkeeper, comfortable with the ball at your feet thanks to your early years as a striker. Where do you feel you've improved the most, and what can you bring to Inter? "As the years go by, you mature and understand what the team needs from you. My only focus is to give my best whenever I'm called upon, and I hope my contribution helps the team achieve positive results."

You've also scored two headers in your career. Does that say something about your mentality on the pitch? "When you're behind late in a game and there's one last corner, you have to try. I've gone forward quite a few times and, on two occasions, it paid off. Hopefully it won't be necessary again, because that would mean we're already in a good position."

Finally, do you have a message for the Nerazzurri fans? "The first thing I want to say is: Forza Inter! I'll give everything, every single day, to prove I deserve to wear these colours."
