— Apr 30th 2025The thoughts of the Inter Goalkeeper and Henrikh Mkhitaryan after the spectacular draw away to Barcelona
An incredible match with a very high intensity: Inter played brilliantly away to Barcelona, managing to leave with a 3-3 draw. The result leaves it open in the second leg, as Yann Sommer, Henrikh Mkhitaryan e Carlos Augusto said in their post-match interviews:
“I think this match has a lot of value, it's a good draw. We had prepared for this type of game, with lots of pressure: we defended well, but Barcelona always create chances to score, the draw is good for us. I was also prepared, they press very high and aggressively, but we did well to defend as a unit and score three goals. The first half was very important, but the 3-3 is an important point. It will be important to play at San Siro in front of our fans, we need a great atmosphere: we will have our chances, so will Barcelona. We will see what happens. ”
Yann Sommer
“I'm disappointed that my goal was ruled out, we could've had an advantage but it was unfortunately offside by two or three centimetres. We now need to be ready to play well in the second leg to get a good result. It's obviously been a difficult period for us because there was a lot of fatigue but we all try to do our best. We are all suffering, but we want to go to the end. We can do more going forward and in possession, but they are strong like us. We need to recover well and play until the end. ”
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
“This was a great match: they have lots of quality. It's a shame because we could've been more careful when we were 2-0 up, but they're a great side. It was a really good match, we hope that we can replicate this to go to the final. There's more motivation in a Champions League semi-final, but we did well and worked as a team, we need to be united against such strong players. The Coach told us to stay calm at half time, that we were playing well: he told us to stay together and enjoy the moment, because playing in these games is brilliant. We will be back in action in three days, but we're an experienced group, we know how to react and today we showed that we deserved to be here. ”
