The thoughts of the Polish midfielder, who scored against Atletico at the Estadio Metropolitano

A strong Inter performance at the Metropolitano in Madrid. The Nerazzurri showed real quality, but it wasn’t enough to secure even a point against Atletico Madrid.

Inter’s goal came at the end of a perfectly executed, high-speed one-two between Ange-Yoan Bonny and Piotr Zielinski, with the Polish midfielder scoring to temporarily level the match. After the game, Zielinski reflected on the clash against Atletico:

“Of course we’re disappointed with how it went; losing like this after a great performance always hurts. We knew it would be a tough stadium and a very strong opponent, but we played well. We just missed that second goal to close the game, and in the end, we conceded the decisive one. I feel good, and I'm always trying to improve and give my best for the team. The goal? It was a nice move: Ange set me up perfectly to finish the one-two, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough today. We’ll bounce back – we’re a great team and still have many matches ahead. I don’t think we have major problems. We’re a strong team and have always responded well. It’s true this is our second consecutive loss, but our performances remain at a high level. We need to be more focused defensively, finish more accurately, and try to score more goals. With a draw or a win, we would be higher up in the standings. We knew it wouldn’t be easy, but we still have three more games to collect as many points as possible and secure a spot in the Round of 16.”
