— Mar 5th 2025The thoughts of the three Inter players after the win in Rotterdam against Feyenoord
A solid match topped off with an attentive Inter display, who subdued a very courageous Feyenoord side. Inter return from Rotterdam with a 2-0 win, which puts Simone Inzaghi's side in an advantageous position ahead of the second-leg at San Siro on Tuesday 11 March.
At the end of the match, the two Dutchmen Stefan De Vrij and Denzel Dumfries spoke about the excitement of playing in their home country, alongside Kristjan Asllani:
“We knew that it would be a difficult game here in Rotterdam, they're a side who play with intensity and technical quality, they did well in the first 25 minutes and we were not very precise, but we held strong and got back into the game. In the second half, we played better and we could've even got the third goal, I think it's still a great result. For us, it's important to not concede goals, in the Champions League this season, we are doing well defensively and we give everyone a good game, we have to continue like this. It was a very special evening for me, also great because of how the fans welcomed me: I am grateful to the local fans. Feyenoord has always been in my heart. ”
Stefan de Vrij
“I think it was a great game, for us. We were very solid and we defend well. Thuram's great goal helped us a lot, it was useful to get the goal at that time. The stadium is brilliant, the fans were very up for it: it's always great playing here. Now, we have to think about Monza, it's an important match for our Serie A campaign: we must prepare ourselves well. ”
Denzel Dumfries
“We had to suffer, we did well: the first half-hour was difficult, then we had more of the ball and won the game. We knew we could score because we had a few chances, we could've even scored the third but that's just how it goes: our minds switch to the second-leg. We were clear from the start, but there are a lot of strong sides in Europa: we're taking it one game at a time, now we've got Monza. The teams in the fight for survival make life difficult for us: we will try to bring the three points home, which is our goal. ”
