— May 6th 2025Coach Inzaghi's joy after Inter beat Barcelona 4-3 to progress to the Champions League final
Inter gave the entire Nerazzurri faithful an unforgettable night, one of those that will be spoken about for years to come. Lautaro, Calhanoglu, Acerbi and Frattesi found the net in an incredible 120 minutes full of heart and fantastic football and where the team gave absolutely everything. The Nerazzurri are through to the Champions League final, another historic milestone that Coach Inzaghi reflected on in his post-match interview:
“First of all, we have to congratulate Barcelona. We faced a really strong team, and it took a super Inter side to win. The players delivered two monstrous performances to reach this final, and I’m very proud of them – they gave everything. Those who came on as substitutes were great and kept the level high, and they deserve a victory like this in front of our fans. They were exemplary. I made substitutions which helped us believe and limit a team like Barcelona. With heart, we overcame every obstacle. We tried to play with our strengths and qualities. After the first game, we knew exactly what we needed to bring to the pitch. Without the sacrifice and support of everyone, it wouldn’t have turned out like this. They were brilliant and deserve this final. I saw another extraordinary player besides Yamal in these two matches – de Jong. He really impressed me, always helping their defence move forward. I wouldn’t change my players for anything in the world, but I saw some very strong players.”
