“"We always say that details matter in this competition and when you make a mistake, you pay for it. Today, we conceded two goals from two mistakes at the start of the game, after we had made a good start ourselves. That makes things difficult because they are an extremely high-level team. We showed character and played like a top side, just like them, as they play to win the Champions League. That's our objective too: every competition Inter play in is one we aim to win. It's disappointing that we didn't get many shots away. They have two very quick players and commit a lot of players on the counter-attack: they are incredibly powerful runners. We weren't able to make the most of our chances, but we can hold our heads high as we maintained a very high level against a great opponent. Courtois is certainly one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but some of it was down to our own mistakes too: we need to improve in front of goal, we could have done better. We'll work on improving that aspect too and then move forward. It's only the first game, and we'll have to step things up and look for a win in the next one. It may be that, with them playing with four at the back, their defensive line became narrower. We should have pushed more with the midfielders, but we adjusted those movements in the second half and managed to find space between the lines, scoring the goal."”
