A special moment today at Inter, with the squad out on the pitch at the BPER Training Centre in preparation for the match against Cagliari. The players were joined by a guest and devoted Nerazzurri supporter, who had the chance to watch the team’s training session up close: Nadia Battocletti, the Italian middle-distance runner who won a historic silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
A lifelong Inter fan, the middle-distance runner is one of the brightest stars in Italian athletics. Alongside her already mentioned Olympic feat, Nadia Battocletti also won gold in the 3000 metres at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Toruń 2026, as well as the 5,000 and 10,000 metres at the 2024 European Athletics Championships. During her visit to Appiano Gentile, the Italian champion had the opportunity to meet the squad and head coach Cristian Chivu ahead of the training session.
“I’m really very happy to be here, because Inter is a family matter for me: my father passed on this passion when I was very young, giving me a teddy bear with a Nerazzurri scarf. Today I’m a huge fan of captain Lautaro Martínez, but my favourite memory is the 2010 Champions League Final: I was just a child and we all watched the match together as a family in front of the TV.”
