Pio Esposito has won the prestigious Best Italian Golden Boy award, given by Tuttosport to the best Italy U21 player of the year. It is the culmination of a brilliant 12 months.

After scoring 19 goals for Spezia in Serie A, he returned to Inter in June 2025, in order to take part in the Club World Cup in the USA. He made his debut against Urawa Red Diamonds on 21 June, and a few days later, he scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri, netting in the victory over River Plate, as he was named Player of the Match.

So far this season, he has played 16 times, netted two goals, and provided two assists. In August, he received his first call-up to Italy's men's side, and on 2 September, he made his full international debut - against Estonia - at just 20 years of age. In the reverse fixture in Tallinn, he scored his first goal for Italy, which he then followed up with goals against Moldova and Norway. These performances are proof of his constant development and his determination to make history with Inter.
