Darmian and Mkhitaryan: "A tough game and a very important win"

“It was a tough evening, but we’re delighted. We knew we’d be up against a strong side and that it’d be difficult. We put absolutely everything into it and managed to achieve an important result for ourselves, the Club and our fans. It wasn’t easy and full focus was required throughout, but this really is a crucial result. It repays all of our efforts in the Champions League so far. We know we’ve dropped too many points in the league; we’ve lacked consistency, especially against some of the smaller sides recently. Tonight, however, should give us a boost going forward. We’ll celebrate today but, from tomorrow, we’ll be fully focused on Sunday because it’s another important game. Preferences for the quarter-finals? All the teams left in the competition are strong and difficult to face. I’d like to wish Napoli good luck tomorrow because it’d be great to have three Italian sides among the top eight in Europe. ”

We always try to be as compact as this, but sometimes an unexpected result arrives. We need to learn how to play in this manner in matches that aren’t of the same standard.
