The Nerazzurre lose their third match of the pre-season tournament

It was a bitter afternoon for Inter Women who lost 1-0 to Como at the Arena Civica in Milano, against Como, on Matchday 3 of the Serie A Women's Cup. It was an intense, competitive game right until the end, but Lehmann's goal made all the difference, earning the visitors all three points. The defeat, however, doesn't bear too many consequences as Piovani's side had already qualified for the final four.

The Nerazzurre got started on the right foot, creating the first chance in the 5th minute through Polli, coming close to goal with a header from Bowen's cross, but it was blocked by a defender. Inter pushed on, and in the 13th minute, Santi tried her luck from distance, but Gilardi was equal to it. The Nerazzurre came so close to the opener in the 29th minute, when Santi's free-kick found Milinkovic in the area: our number four's header was just wide. Shortly after, a chance fell to Milinkovic once again in the 40th minute, getting on the end of a corner, but her header was cleared off the line by a Como defender. Towards the end of the half, Consolini also had a chance, but it was an easy save for Gilardi. The teams headed for the changing rooms at 0-0. After the break, it was a similar story: Inter were dangerous right away, and in the 53rd minute, Colli called Gilardi into action with a looping header. In the 69th minute, the number 9 found Glionna in the area, but the keeper intervened just at the crucial moment. The Nerazzurre pushed on, and in the 71st minute, her powerful effort was blocked by Belli. Just after, Petzelberger had a golden chance to find the opener, but incredibly, from just a few yards out, shot over the bar. In the 78th minute came the moment that decided the game: an error in the build-up gave Lehmann a chance, who shot from the edge of the box and found the back of the net with an unlucky deflection off Bartoli. Inter then tried to pick themselves up and find an equaliser. In the 93rd minute, Vilhjalmsdottir had a great chance, but Gilardi made a key stop. It was the last chance of the game: Como managed to resist the pressure and take all three points back home from the Arena Civica.
