To celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities, celebrated on 3 December, FC Internazionale Milano organised a range of special activities, as well as taking part in initiatives promoted by Lega Serie A aimed at celebrating the DCPS - Paralympic and Experimental Football Division teams of the clubs, held on matchday 14th of the season.
During the Inter vs. Como match, to highlight the importance of collaboration and partnerships in promoting social sustainability and inclusion in sports, the athletes from the 'special' DCPS teams of both clubs were guests at the Meazza.
"The initiative saw the highest level of institutional support. In fact, the young athletes from the teams associated with Inter and Como watched the pre-match warm-up from the touchlines along with the Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli; Inter President Giuseppe Marotta; Como CEO Francesco Terrazzani; and the Head of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division of FIGC, Giovanni Sacripante.
The experience was truly an unforgettable one, thanks to the opportunity to meet Nerazzurri legends Maicon and Toldo inside Nike's Sky Lounge.
Three players from the Nerazzurri 'Special' team took to the pitch for the line-up before kick-off, joining the captains of Inter and Como as well as the referee. They are part of ASD Sporting 4E, the association that has partnered with Inter since 2017 and plays wearing the Nerazzurri shirt in the DCPS (Paralympic and Experimental Football Division) Championship, reserved for people with intellectual and relational disabilities and promoted by FIGC.
Initiatives will continue on Sunday, 7 December, when three players from the Nerazzurri powerchair team Snakes Milano will take part in the line-up for the Inter Women vs. Genoa match at the Arena Civica Gianni Brera at 12:30 CET.
From this season, Inter's collaborations in the field of football for all abilities are broadening: Real Eyes Sport, specialised in blind football, is joining forces with ASD Sporting 4E and Snakes Milano.
