Inter are set to face Bologna in the semi-final of the EA Sports FC Supercup 2025/26: the Nerazzurri will take to the field at 8:00 PM CET (10:00 PM Saudi Arabia time, AST) on Friday, December 19, at Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Riyadh, in what will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the history of the competition.
BOLOGNA VS. INTER | PREVIOUS MEETINGS
Bologna and Inter have faced each other 182 times in all competitions. The Nerazzurri have won 90 of those meetings, compared to 52 victories for Bologna and 40 draws completing the record. Inter are the team that have scored the most goals against Bologna in all competitions since 1929/30 (288 goals). Considering all competitions, Bologna have remained unbeaten in five of their last six matches against Inter (3 wins, 2 draws). However, Inter have recorded 11 victories in the last 16 official meetings with Bologna (2 draws, 3 losses).
Bologna and Inter will meet on neutral ground for only the second time in their history in all competitions after the play-off to decide the 1963/64 Serie A title. On that occasion, at the Olimpico in Rome, Bologna won 2–0 (an own goal by Facchetti and a goal by Nielsen), securing what remains the most recent of the seven league titles won by the Rossoblù.
NERAZZURRI STATS
Inter will take part in the Supercoppa Italiana for the 14th time in their history and come into the match top of the Serie A with 33 points after 14 matches. In 2025, the Nerazzurri have won 38 matches across all competitions: surpassed only in 2023 (39 wins) and 2005 (40). Chivu’s side also boast the best attack in Serie A with 34 goals scored and, together with Bologna, are the teams that have scored the most goals across all competitions in the 2025/26 season (excluding the FIFA Club World Cup): 51 for the Nerazzurri and 34 for the Rossoblù. Defensively, Inter are the Serie A team with the highest number of clean-sheets across all competitions since the beginning of August (10). Compared to the top five European leagues, only Arsenal (15), Lyon (13), and Crystal Palace (12) have recorded more clean sheets than the Nerazzurri in that period.
RECORD BREAKING LAUTARO
No player has scored more goals than Lautaro Martínez (four, tied with Dybala) in the Supercoppa Italiana. Since his arrival to Italy in the 2018/19 season, the Nerazzurri striker has been one of only two players to both score and provide an assist in the highest number of different matches across all competitions: 19, including the most recent league fixture away at Genoa. In addition, the captain is the only player to have scored in four different editions of the Supercoppa Italiana (one goal in each of the last four) and has already scored against three different opponents in the competition, another record in the tournament’s history.
Against Bologna, the Argentine forward has alternated between scoring and not in his last eight meetings (four goals in total), failing to score in the most recent encounter on April 20 in Serie A.
INTER - A GOALSCORING COLLECTIVE
Inter are the team that have seen the most different players score in the history of the Supercoppa Italiana: 23, at least four more than any other club to have ever participated in the tournament. The Nerazzurri have also confirmed their status as a goalscoring collective in Serie A 2025/26, with 13 players finding the net. Many goals, many protagonists, and intense wing play, something that Bologna can match: both the Rossoblù and Inter are the Serie A teams with the highest number of successful open-play crosses across all 2025/26 competitions (excluding the FIFA Club World Cup); 94 for Bologna, 90 for Inter.
Hakan Çalhanoglu has been involved in seven goals against Bologna across all competitions (3 goals + 4 assists). Since the start of 2025, the Turkish midfielder is the Serie A player with the most goals from outside the area across all competitions: six, one more than Bologna have scored from distance in this calendar year (five).
Federico Dimarco’s only multi-goal performance in Serie A came against Bologna: a brace in Inter’s 6–1 win at the Meazza on November 9, 2022.
Federico Dimarco and Nicolò Barella are two of the three players who have created the most chances for teammates this Serie A season: 40 for the midfielder, 36 for the full-back (tied with Aarón Martín).
Yann Bisseck’s first away goal for Inter came against Bologna: the decisive strike in a 1–0 league win on March 9, 2024.
Ange-Yoan Bonny (born 2003, one goal against Bologna in Serie A for Parma on February 22) is one of only five forwards born from 2003 onwards to have at least three goals and three assists in the top five European leagues in 2025/26 (4 goals + 3 assists), alongside Lamine Yamal, Kenan Yildiz, Giovane, and Karl Eyong.
Piotr Zieliński has also scored against Bologna in Serie A: the third and final goal in Napoli’s 3–0 win on September 10, 2017.
Stefan de Vrij (eight appearances) is close to matching Gianluigi Buffon and Dejan Stanković (both nine) for the record of most appearances in the Italian Super Cup.
