— 1 hour agoIt was a special day for Yann Bisseck, who took center stage at the Festival dello Sport in Trento, the annual event organized by Gazzetta dello Sport that brings together leading figures from across the sporting world. The German defender featured in the talk “Yann Bisseck, il gigante nerazzurro”, where he reflected on his football journey and his time at Inter, looking back on key stages of his career from his early years in Germany, Portugal and Denmark to his experience with the Nerazzurri.
“When Inter called, it felt surreal. Even after a good season, I never expected a club that big to come in for me. I thought my career would progress step by step, but when Inter call, you don’t really have to think twice. I wanted to speak to the directors because I could hardly believe it was happening. They showed a lot of faith in me straight away, and that made the decision to come here an easy one. My father has never quite understood the way I think. He has always believed in taking things step by step, while I think sometimes you have to take a risk. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t, but this time it definitely did.”

Bisseck also opened up about life away from the pitch, discussing his passions and ambitions, the paths he might have followed had football not worked out, and his personal interests. The Nerazzurri defender gave the audience a glimpse into his life, his bond with Inter and the journey of growth he is continuing to experience in Nerazzurri colours.
“Darmian is the player I’ve learned the most from. He’s very intelligent and always seems to think one step ahead, so for me it was easy to adapt and learn from him. The others are all top-level players too. I’m still learning, I’m 25 and there are plenty of things I can improve on, but with the trust of the Club, the coach and my teammates, I feel I’m in the right team. Tactically, things were more chaotic in Denmark, whereas in Italy all 11 players have to work together like a perfectly oiled machine. It isn’t easy to learn, but I think we’ve done it pretty well over the last few years. For me, this is the perfect way to play. ”
