Career Story

Courage, reflexes, personality and instinct: Josep Martínez is a modern, complete and reliable goalkeeper, confident between the posts. Born in Alzira on 27 May 1998, he came through Barcelona's youth academy before moving to Las Palmas, where he established himself at senior level. In 2020, he joined Leipzig before moving to Italy to join Genoa: with the Rossoblù, he secured promotion to Serie A in 2023 and established himself as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the league. In summer 2024, he joined Inter, where over two seasons he has made 21 appearances and kept 11 clean sheets, playing a key role in the Nerazzurri's Coppa Italia campaign in the 2025/26 season. Victory in the final against Lazio earned him his second trophy in the Nerazzurri shirt, adding to the Scudetto for a historic Double.
