Career Story

Benedetta Glionna is a talented and technically gifted forward, born in Naples on July 26, 1999.

Having come through the youth academy of Fiammamonza, which she joined at the age of 12, Glionna showed her outstanding ability from an early age. At just 14, she was already promoted to the first team, competing in Serie C. During the 2016/17 season, Glionna scored 31 goals and became one of the key players in Fiammamonza’s promotion to Serie B.

At the end of the season, she was signed by Juventus, where she scored seven goals in Serie A Femminile and helped the Bianconere win their first-ever league title in 2018. The success was repeated the following season, when Glionna also won the Coppa Italia Femminile.

In 2019/20, she played for Hellas Verona Women before moving to Empoli Women the following season. With the Tuscan side, Glionna enjoyed an excellent campaign, reaching double figures for goals for the first time in her career with 10 goals.

In the summer of 2021, Benedetta joined AS Roma Women. She spent four seasons with the Giallorosse, winning two league titles, two Italian Super Cups, and one Italian Cup. With Roma, she also made her debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League, where she scored the club’s first-ever goals in the competition against Glasgow City in August 2022. Overall, she made 132 appearances and scored 24 goals for Roma before joining the Nerazzurre in the summer of 2025.

Since 2015, Glionna has been called up to Italy’s youth national teams, while in 2018, before even turning 19, she made her debut for the senior national team. With Italy, she took part in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. In total, Glionna has earned 25 caps for the Azzurre, scoring one goal in a friendly against Malta in October 2024.
