Career Story

An experienced player and solid defender, Caroline Pleidrup was born on December 11, 2000, in Brøndbyvester, Denmark.

Since childhood, Pleidrup has played as a centre-back. Her football journey began at the age of seven in the youth academy of Brøndby IF, the team from her hometown and one of Denmark’s most important clubs. Caroline progressed through all the yellow-and-blue club’s youth teams until 2017, when she joined the first team setup and made her debut in the top Danish league at just 17 years old. She remained with Brøndby until 2022, winning one Danish league title and one Danish Cup. During her time with the club, she also made her debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

In the summer of 2022, Pleidrup moved to Italy to join Sassuolo. In her first two seasons with the Neroverdi, she was coached by Gianpiero Piovani and became a key figure in the Emilia-based club’s defense. Overall, Caroline made 78 appearances and scored 2 goals for Sassuolo, proving her reliability and strong character. In the summer of 2025, after three seasons with the club, she joined Inter, where she reunited with Piovani as head coach.

Having been part of Denmark’s youth national team setup since 2015, Pleidrup made her debut for the senior Denmark national team in February 2024 in a friendly match that ended in a draw against Austria.
