CLUB WOLRD CUP 2010
Inter's journey to the final began with a semifinal against South Korea's Seongnam. On 15 December, the Nerazzurri secured a comfortable 3–0 victory thanks to goals from Stanković, Zanetti and Milito. Early in the match, however, Wesley Sneijder suffered an injury that ruled him out of the final. In the decisive match against TP Mazembe, Inter struck after just 13 minutes. Eto'o set up Pandev, whose left-footed finish beat goalkeeper Kidiaba, who had become famous around the world for his distinctive goal celebration whenever his teammates scored. The second goal was scored by Samuel Eto'o. He then sprinted towards the bench, where Marco Materazzi was waiting with two white shopping bags. Eto'o grabbed them and began an impromptu dance, while Materazzi, wearing the number 23 shirt, lifted him into the air. The light-hearted celebration quickly became an iconic moment. Biabiany put the seal on the victory. At just 22 years old and a product of Inter's youth academy, he scored his first goal for the club on the biggest stage of all—the one that returned the Nerazzurri to the top of the world. Then came the joy, the celebrations and the triumph. Javier Zanetti lifted Inter's fifth trophy of 2010, wearing the shirt of Walter Samuel, who had been sidelined by a serious knee injury.
