We all remember May 22, 2010: where we were when we watched the match, who we were with, and how we celebrated. It began with a long ball from Júlio César, Milito's headed layoff, Sneijder's return pass, a feint, and a right-footed finish into the roof of the net. Inter's opening goal at the Santiago Bernabéu was a masterpiece by Il Principe, Diego Milito. One of the biggest scares for Inter came in the opening minute of the second half. Olic's backheel opened up the field for Altıntop, whose perfectly weighted cross found Müller. The German's right-footed shot looked destined for the net, but Júlio César reacted instinctively, making a remarkable save with his foot. Then, in the 65th minute, the Brazilian goalkeeper produced another sensational stop, denying Robben's trademark left-footed curling effort. Two crucial saves that kept Inter's goal secure. The match was still in the balance. Bayern pressed forward, while both teams were beginning to tire and the game became increasingly stretched. In the 70th minute, Eto'o and Sneijder battled fiercely in midfield to win possession before the ball was played to Milito just beyond the halfway line. Pandev was exhausted, bent over and unable to join the attack, so Milito carried the counter on his own. Van Buyten tracked him all the way to the edge of the penalty area, where the Argentine began his masterpiece: his signature cut inside, the ball perfectly positioned on his right foot, and a composed side-footed finish beyond Butt. It was 2–0. Milito sprinted toward the Nerazzurri supporters to celebrate. The three minutes of added time felt like the sweetest countdown imaginable. The ball rolled to Júlio César for a goal kick, players on the bench began embracing one another, everyone rose to their feet. Then came Webb's final whistle—pure release, uncontainable joy, and the start of the celebrations. Inter were champions of Europe.
