The Coach after the 1-1 draw in Florence: "It's disappointing. We could have got more but I can't criticise the guys. It's part of our growth process"

FLORENCE - Despite being in control from start to end, Inter were unable to leave the Franchi with the three points: the Nerazzurri  were pegged back by a late Vlahovic equaliser after having led for 80 minutes following Borja Valero's early opener. There were also various chances to extend the lead throughout the match.

“Like against Barcelona, we took less than we deserved,” said AntonioConte following the final whistle. “It’s disappointing because the team responded well today after the defeat on Tuesday. You’ve seen recent games and we also got less than we should have against Roma, but we can’t do anything other than look to improve at both ends. We could have won three games but instead we’ve drawn two and lost one. However, I can’t criticise the guys for anything. It’s a process of growth and we all need to be patient: we’re not yet in a situation where we can win every game just because we’re called Inter.

“We had lots of chances, Dragowski was excellent and we couldn’t make the most of some situations. We’re talking about guys who are always playing though and it’s inevitable that you’ll have to pay somewhat in terms of fatigue. Unfortunately, Lautaro and Lukaku are always playing, although they’re doing great things to help the team. They could use some rest but the Sanchez injury unfortunately denies us an important alternative option. We look ahead and can take strength from the fact that we came to Florence to play our game. It’s disappointing not to leave with the three points after conceding in the 92nd minute. We’ll analyse it to be more precise in the future.”
