The Nerazzurri Coach's words after Lazio vs. Inter: "The performance was there, but in certain games it's the small details which are decisive"

ROME - Inter suffered their second league defeat of the season tonight, as they failed to capitalise on Ashley Young’s first Nerazzurri goal at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio secured all three points at home, with goals from Immobile and Milinkovic-Savic completing a second-half comeback.

“I’m not happy with the result and the way in which we conceded the two goals,” said Antonio Conte to Sky. “However, the performance was there. It was a balanced match but one where small details were decisive. We lost concentration for their goals and they were both avoidable. However, it’s all part of our development. The lads must keep improving to ensure that they remain calm in these types of situations.

“This wasn’t the first time that we went ahead and then suffered a comeback,” our Coach added. “The same thing happened against Barcelona and against Dortmund, games that we had in our hands. As I often say, we need to make our own path and it’s important that the boys continue to grow in order to approach all situations in the right way. We put in a monumental effort and I’d like to thank my boys for that. We’re challenging for the title and we should be proud of that, but we must not forget that there’s still a long way to go.

“We have a lot of young guys and the potential for growth is considerable, we have to improve and we can’t get ahead of ourselves,” he concluded. “We need to keep working without losing faith in what we’re doing.”
