Lega Serie A have confirmed the date and time of the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg

MILAN – Inter will officially return to the pitch on Saturday 13 June for the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Napoli. The game will be played at 21:00 CEST at the San Paolo, andrefereeRocchi will be in charge. Napoli won the first leg 1-0 in Milan thanks to Fabian Ruiz’s goal. The Coppa Italia final is then scheduled for Wednesday 17 June.

Following the President of the Council of Minister’s Decree on 11 June 2020 which referred to “urgent measures to contain the contagion throughout Italy” in art. 1, the FIGC then decided on 12 June 2020 to authorise the organisation of professional football competitions behind closed doors, without the presenceof a crowd and under the FIGC’s guidance.

Lega Serie A have also announced other important news regarding the semi-finals and final of the Coppa Italia:

- In both the semi-finals and final, in the event of a tie on aggregate after 90 minutes (i.e. in the event that Inter are 1-0 ahead after 90 minutes in the second leg), extra time will not be played and instead it will go straight to penalties.

Furthermore, the FIGC have announced that as an exception teams will be allowed to make five substitutions during a match (an exception that is valid for all games across all competitions until the end of the 2019/20 season). The five substitutions may be made using a maximum of three breaks in the match, in addition to the scheduled half-time break. Where the two teams make a substitution at the same time, this will be considered an interruption of the match used by both sides.

The two Coppa Italia semi-finals will be preceded by a minute of silence, which will be observed to commemorate all the victims of the COVID-19 emergency. The teams and match officials will then carry out a round of applause for three members of the National Health Service’s staff who will be on the pitch with the players: the three medical staff members will symbolically represent all the nation’s medical staff, doctors, nurses, professionals, operators, researchers and all those involved in the fight against COVID-19.
