As in December, Inter have once again completed a clean sweep of the Serie A monthly awards, with January bringing a second Nerazzurri double. Following Cristian Chivu’s recognition as Coach of the Month, it is now Federico Dimarco who takes centre stage, becoming the league’s first Player of the Month of 2026.
January continued the strong momentum Inter had already built at the end of 2025. Across six matches, the Nerazzurri recorded five wins against Bologna, Parma, Lecce, Udinese and Pisa, along with a draw at San Siro against Napoli, extending an impressive run of results. Federico Dimarco was unquestionably one of the standout performers during the month. The wing-back found the net three times, scoring against Parma, Napoli and Pisa, while also contributing decisively in the final third with one assist against Bologna and two more in the comeback win over Pisa. Performances of both quality and consistency that earned him the Man of the Match award twice, in the victories over Parma and Pisa.
Federico Dimarco’s January Player of the Month award is the result of a system that combines online fan voting with individual performance data, rewarding a month defined by outstanding numbers and decisive displays.
“The fan vote has named Federico Dimarco as January’s Player of the Month, making him the first full-back to win the award since its introduction in the 2019/20 season. In a modern game where exploiting the width of the pitch has become fundamental to attacking play, Dimarco has proved to be Inter’s most potent weapon in recent weeks — not only as a creative outlet, but also as a constant attacking threat. His ability to strike with both power and precision has made him a decisive presence in the final third. The three goals and three assists recorded in the opening month of the year underline the Nerazzurri wing-back’s outstanding form, confirming his status as a cornerstone of Cristian Chivu’s tactical setup and a key figure for Inter since the very start of the season.”
