The words of Serie A Player of the Match Carlos Augusto and Benjamin Pavard after Inter vs. Fiorentina

Running, energy, decisive covering and an endless amount of dangerous crosses: Carlos Augusto's game against Fiorentina was one of great substance in both phases of the game. Named player of the match by the Lega Serie A, the Brazilian full-back served the decisive assist for Arnautovic's goal, which fixed the result at 2-1 for the Nerazzurri.

With these words Carlos and Benjamin Pavard talked about the match in their post-match interviews:

“We showed how united our group is again today. I'm pleased for Marko. Those who play less work hard during the week, and he deserved this goal. We weren't ourselves on Thursday; criticism is normal because we're a good team and there's always talk when we lose. Today, we showed our strength again. We hope to not concede as many as we did against Juventus in the reverse fixture. It's an important period of the season; we're going there to win.”

“It was an important win because we responded to the win the other day. Napoli also drew yesterday. I'm pleased for the whole team: those who started, those who came on and those who didn't play. We showed that we're a good team and responded well. We wanted an immediate reaction. We were nervous after the defeat but started with a great tempo. Unfortunately, we conceded from the penalty spot. What matters is that we got the three points. Now, we need to recover because we have a big game against Juventus coming up. I feel good. I would have preferred not to have conceded and to have kept a clean sheet but the most important thing is that we won. Now, we're one point behind Napoli and we need to continue down this road. We needed to get ourselves back in the race today. I'm proud of the team. We still have a lot of games left to play and we want to win them all. Every game is important. It'll be a good match in Turin. We'll rewatch the reverse fixture to see what we did well and where we can important. We have a few days to prepare and we'll give it our all to win.”
