— Mar 11th 2025Inter win and reach the quarter-finals: the thoughts of the Inter Coach at the end of Inter 2-1 Feyenoord
An evening filled with emotions and achievements for Coach Simone Inzaghi. On his 200th appearance in the dugout, Inter continued their European campaign as they qualified for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Here are his thoughts at the end of Inter 2-1 Feyenoord:
“We really wanted this qualification, the lads were brilliant, I keep praising them because they deserve it, they give everything and they are not always recognised from outside sources but we are satisfied with the fans do for us during the matches. Despite all of the difficulties, they keep going and they deserve it because they are truly amazing. We've played three matches in six days, we will rest tomorrow. Bayern? It'll be a difficult game, I've come up against them with Inter and Lazio, they're a solid and well-drilled side but we will play to our strengths, as we have done until now. I feel bad about Asllani's yellow card especially because Zielinski is also out and we will be in a bit of difficult, but two guys came onto the pitch tonight and they will give us a hand because we're a bit short. What's behind these debuts? A lot of hard work. There are guys who work hard and there are guys who usually train with us. They earned this achievement, Aidoo could've also come on but I chose to go with Acerbi. I know what coaching Inter means, it was my 200th game tonight, there's been a lot of joy, some disappointment but we always think about honouring all of the competitions and matches in the best way. We learn something else every day, we won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa in my first year and now we're in the Champions League Round of 16, this team has fighting in its DNA, competing on all front. We know that it takes a huge effort, which is why the players deserved to be embraced and celebrated just like our fans always do”
