Inter claim their eighth league win of the season, beating Venezia 0-2 in the ninth round of Serie A in the first midweek fixture of the campaign. It was a difficult match for the Nerazzurri against a well-organised opponent, with little space to build attacks and create chances, while the hosts looked to threaten on the counter. Chivu’s side, however, struck once again late in the game, scoring twice between the 80th and 82nd minutes. Both goals came from Venezia own goals: first Moreno deflected a low cross from Thuram into his own net, before Halhal was struck by a powerful header from Carlos Augusto.
