Darmian: "Difficult opposition, but we want to get through the group"

SEATTLE - Inter are getting ready for their last game in Group E: on Wednesday at 18:00 (Seattle time) the game against River Plate will kick off at the Lumen Field. It is a key match in terms of the next round and Matteo Darmian gave his thoughts in an interview on the day before the game.

Did the win against the Urawa Red Diamonds give you an extra push? "We have always had good spirits and we have approached this adventure with the right will and determination. There have been difficulties in games, but we always work to prepare ourselves. We want to get through this round, and we know that this will be a difficult game". What sort of game do you expect against River Plate? "I expect it to be a tricky match, but we will approach it as best as possible. We must manage the game well, and we need a win to get through. They have players with good quality and character, but we are only thinking of ourselves". How much energy are new players and the youngsters giving you? "A lot. They are a great help and we need everyone. Right from the start everyone made themselves available, from the youngsters to the more experienced players, we will move forward with this team spirit". What do you make of this competition? "We are here to do well and we will give everything for Inter and our fans. Obviously wins help, and we were happy to win the other day to get that taste of victory back. We are all making ourselves an option for the boss in order to continue this path in the coming years".
