The thoughts of the Inter captain after the Nerazzurri's 1-1 draw against Monterrey in their Club World Cup opener

At the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, it finished 1-1 between Inter and Monterrey on matchday 1 in Group E at the 2025 Club World Cup.

Both goals arrived in the first half, with Lautaro Martinez equalising in the 41st minute following Sergio Ramos' opener. This is what the Inter captain had to say after the match:

“We did well overall. The pitch was quite dry, which made it tough to keep the ball moving. I previously played in the Copa America here, and it was the same then. We just need to adapt. I’m pleased with how this first game went, and I’m feeling calm. We did concede from a set piece, and that’s an area we really need to work on. Defending zonally is still new for us, so we’ve got to keep going and get better.”
