MILANO - The Ukrainian children travelled from Genoa and Bergamo with support from the Consulate General of Ukraine in Milano and coordination from Shakhtar Social, the club’s Social Responsibility Department. The Inter Campus children are part of the Giocare Aiuta a Guarire Meglio project, developed with Fondazione Maria Letizia Verga to help them reconnect with others after periods of enforced isolation during medical treatment.
It was a special day for them, beginning with a joint training session on the pitch and ending in the stands at San Siro, where both groups watched the match. The initiative aims to promote a culture of dialogue, helping participants get to know their opponents through shared experiences and the universal language of football.
Football’s ability to bring people together extends beyond the 90 minutes. That is the message both clubs promote through their social projects, whose participants came together today for an experience they will never forget.
Launched in March 2025, the Social & Community Exchange project brings people together for cultural exchanges around Champions League fixtures involving the men’s first team. Participants in the two clubs’ social programmes meet for activities on the football pitch, while sustainability representatives share best practice and develop new joint projects. The UEFA Foundation supports the initiative, which aligns with EFC policies and the United Nations’ Football for the Goals initiative.
The Inter vs Club Brugge fixture also saw a Belgian representative meet Inter’s Special Team and the Inter Campus children in a gesture of friendship and fair play: without opponents, there is no game.
