Career Story
Captain, symbol and leader of Inter: Lautaro Martínez, born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, on August 22, 1997, has written unforgettable chapters in the history of the Nerazzurri club.
He arrived in Milan in the summer of 2018, when El Toro was just 21 years old, making his Inter debut and scoring some of his first important goals.
In the Nerazzurri shirt, he has enjoyed unforgettable seasons, always giving everything he has to “take Inter to the top”, as he often likes to say. Wonderful and successful years have seen Lautaro grow from a promising young talent into an undisputed star.
After winning one Serie A title, two Coppa Italia trophies and two Italian Super Cups, Lautaro became Inter captain in the summer of 2023, reaching a new level.
The Argentine has developed into a complete striker, clinical in front of goal and capable of bringing out the best in all his attacking teammates, who have been inspired by their captain’s example. In the meantime, Lautaro has continued to set records and produce extraordinary numbers.
Now the third-highest goalscorer in Inter’s history and the club’s all-time leading scorer in the Champions League, Lautaro has continued his triumphant journey, adding two more Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia and one Italian Super Cup to his personal trophy cabinet.
During his time at Inter, El Toro also became the 20th player in the club’s history to win the FIFA World Cup, following Argentina’s triumph in Qatar in 2022.
With Inter, Lautaro has also received five Ballon d’Or nominations, with his best finish coming in 2024, when he placed seventh.
