Career Story

Quality and quantity, substance, heart and leadership: Nicolò Barella is one of the pillars of Inter's midfield, a technical and charismatic leader who has been performing at the highest levels of Italian and international football for years. Born in Cagliari on 7 February 1997, he came through the Rossoblù youth academy, making his professional debut and establishing himself as an all-action midfielder. After a spell at Como, he remained at Cagliari until 2019, when he moved to Inter. Barella became one of the key figures in the Nerazzurri midfield and for the Italian national team, with whom he became European champion in 2021. A technical and emotional leader on the pitch, Barella has made 341 appearances and scored 29 goals for Inter, playing a leading role in winning three Scudetti, three Coppa Italia titles and three Supercoppa Italiana trophies.
