Diary from the States, Day 15 | Bye Seattle, Charlotte here we come

You slide across the grass, eyes wide with disbelief — but this is the moment when you realize that yes, that childhood dream you held onto… it’s here. It’s real. Everyone runs over, a group hug that makes it all tangible — what just a second earlier still felt like nothing more than a wish. But it’s all true: the feint, the right-footed shot, your teammates, the stadium, the win.

You think back to those matches as a kid, already wearing the Inter shirt. And now you’re standing in a roaring arena, where the chants of opposing fans fill every inch of space, setting the pitch on fire. That’s exactly when clarity is needed — calmness, precision: the technical move, the finish, all in a heartbeat. Francesco Pio — and Alessandro, too — carrying the ball forward, striking it home to seal the win and our place in the next round.

One match, a thousand stories. Every play, every tackle — all in a city that hosted us, welcomed us, made us feel at home. A city that gave us fierce, fired-up opponents: tough, but thrilling to face. These are the moments that charge you up, that give you the energy to push through even the fiercest battles.

Now we leave Seattle behind — its skyscrapers, its market, its pier, the places that became familiar, its own unique history. The journey moves on. Another America awaits, hours of travel toward the next goal: new opponents, a new challenge, new streets to discover — and make our own.

Goodbye, Seattle. Charlotte, we’re coming.

Inter is on the way.
