In his final season in charge of the Nerazzurri, Roberto Mancini guided Inter to a third consecutive Scudetto after a thrilling title race with Roma that went down to the closing minutes of the final matchday. Led by Zlatan Ibrahimović and Julio Cruz, both of whom reached double figures in the league, Inter's destiny was decided in the season's last act at the Stadio Tardini.
Still recovering from injury, Ibrahimović started on the bench as torrential rain lashed Parma. At half-time, with Inter locked in a goalless stalemate, Roma were virtually champions. Everything changed after the break. Introduced in the second half, the Swedish striker single-handedly transformed the match, scoring twice – in the 62nd and 79th minutes – to secure a 2–0 victory and seal another Scudetto for the Nerazzurri.
