In his first season at the helm of Inter, the "Special One" José Mourinho immediately achieved the Scudetto objective, taking charge of a team that, over the following two seasons, he would transform into a powerhouse capable of conquering every trophy available.
The Portuguese coach quickly instilled balance and defensive solidity in his players. At the end of the campaign, Zlatan Ibrahimović was the only Nerazzurri player to reach double figures in league goals, playing a leading role in Inter’s title-winning journey with an outstanding tally of 25 goals. The contribution of a young Mario Balotelli was also significant, with the striker scoring eight times.
Inter celebrated the Scudetto on 16 May, when AC Milan’s defeat against Udinese mathematically secured the title for the Nerazzurri.
